Program Description:
This scholarship program is not run through the International Academic Programs office at UMKC. Therefore the APPLY NOW button has been removed. The applicant must either be a Japanese student studying at Johnson County Community College or an American student enrolled in Johnson County Community College courses with significant Japanese content. Students studying abroad in Japan on a JCCC-related program are also eligible. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required and recipient must be a full-time student. Recipients must assist with the annual Japan Festival in the fall semester and attend the annual meeting of the Japan-American Society. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need. Students must submit the Heart of America Japan- American Society Scholarship application to the International Education office along with a 1 page narrative of educational and professional goals and a description of your personal qualities and culteral experiences. Provide one letter of reference from an academic, professional or volunteer contact. The scholarship is for $1,000


Eligibility:
  •         Must be enrolled at Johnson Country Community College in Japanese language courses.
